General – Post-Brexit overview (United Kingdom)

The UK left the EU on 31 January 2020. However, it remained a member of the EU single market throughout the transition period, which ended at 11pm GMT on 31 December 2020 (midnight on 1 January 2021 CET).

Note: For ease of reference we will refer to CET time and 1 January 2021 as the date the UK ceased to be a member of the EU single market.
