VAT returns in Zambia are normally filed on a monthly basis.
The VAT submission process in Zambia is fully electronic. VAT returns with more than ten transactions for each accounting period are filed online via the Zambia Revenue Authority's TaxOnline Portal:

The deadline for submitting a VAT return with more than ten transactions is the 18th day after the end of the prescribed accounting period to which it relates. Any VAT payable must be paid at the same time.
A VAT return with fewer than ten transactions for each prescribed accounting period may be filed manually, together with the VAT due, by the 5th day after the end of the prescribed
