9.1ÌýÌýÌýÌý Work permits

Belgian work permits and visas for work in Belgium are not required by EU citizens or Swiss nationals and other individuals covered by EU law (such as Third Country Nationals (TCNs) legally residing in an EU state), as they have the right to be employed in any EU state.

Other workers from outside the EU who wish to work in Belgium under an employment contract must have a work permit. The work permit provides for workers planning to exercise a shortage profession (for which there is a shortage of qualified staff):
