The Ministry of Employment in Finland (Valtiolle) deals with work in Finland and has 15 local 'TE Offices'.
The Finnish Immigration Service (Maahanmuuttovirasto Migrationsverket) deals with work permit applications from abroad.
Although EU and EEA Citizens, EU lawful residents and Swiss nationals can work in Finland without a work permit (due to the country's EU membership) they must apply for EU registration if they intend to stay in Finland for more than three months. Details are available here.
Other individuals working in Finland must obtain a residence permit based on their right to work in Finland, however short their stay. The type of employment residence permit depends on the employee's circumstances and the type of work. EU Blue Card holders must meet a minimum salary requirement. From 13 May 2024, this is a monthly salary of EUR 3,638 (Press Release 13 May 2024).
