8.2 Social security audits and employer failures

The social security authorities have the right to check the payroll data and bookkeeping (SGB IV, s 28p). This is done by the pension insurance authority and covers all social insurances. The usual term is every four years. It also covers the results of wage audits where the employer is subject to such audits.
