9.1 Work permits

9.1ÌýÌýÌýÌý Work permits

Employers must meet the requirements of the Control of Housing and Work (Jersey) Law 2012 which includes holding the requisite registered or licensed permission for any member of staff who does not hold Entitled or Entitled for work status (5.1).

In addition, employers must apply in advance for a work permit for individuals who need immigration permission to enter or remain in Jersey for work (as work permits are also a requirement under Immigration (Work Permits) (Jersey) Rules 1995, Art 2).

Such a work permit is not necessary in respect of any prospective member of staff falling in one of the following categories:

  1. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý a British or Irish citizen or a British subject with the right of abode

  2. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý an EU or EEA passport holder who has been granted settled or pre-settled status

  3. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý a non-EU or non-EEA passport holder who has been granted settled or pre-settled statue by virtue of a relationship
