Norway has some reciprocal social security agreements with countries outside the EEA, including with the UK, Iceland, Liechtenstein. A new agreement with South Korea took effect on 1 June 2024. The Nordic Convention on Social Security is a separate social security agreement, established between Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
Agreements can cover both contributions and benefits entitlement. A minimum contribution period is required for aggregation of the contributions paid in each country for state benefits purposes.
