The Norwegian Permitteringscheme allows employers to lay off employees or place them on short-time working, while they remain employed but do no, or a reduced amount of, work.
This type of layoff must be for a justifiable reason such as a lack of business orders, major repairs, an accident, a natural disaster or other unforeseen event.
The employer must give the employee 14 days' notice of the lay off and then pay them for 15 days
