9.1ÌýÌýÌýÌý Employment law in Portugal
Like other European countries, Portugal has labour laws that are quite protective of workers' rights.
The European Union Directive that is typically applicable to posted workers in Portugal was transposed to the Portuguese Law. Portuguese Law establishes that any service provider established in a member state who posts workers to a Portuguese territory is subject to a series of obligations of an administrative nature arising from the posting, to be complied before, during and even after the end of the posting, with the Authority for Working Conditions being the competent national authority for the purposes of the aforementioned law.
