As with most elements of contractual pay in Sweden, many employers will be bound to offer favourable sick pay through the collective bargaining arrangements that exist. However, even where no such arrangements exist, statutory provision has been made for workers who fall sick and cannot work as a result.
9.7.1ÌýÌýÌýÌý Employer-provided sick leave and pay
To obtain sick pay from an employer, the worker must have been in their employment for at least one month, or have worked continuously for 14 days. The worker must notify their employer on the first day they will be absent from work.
