If an individual is travelling into Singapore with the intention to work in Singapore, their entry into Singapore would need to be accompanied with a valid pass (or otherwise known as work visa). The more relevant types of valid passes are detailed in the tables below.
For professionals and mid-skilled workers
Pass type | Who is it for |
Employment Pass (EP) | For foreign professionals, managers and executives. Candidates need to earn at least SGD 5,000 a month and pass the Complementarity Assessment Framework (COMPASS). This applies to new EP applications starting 1 September 2023 and renewals of EPs expiring from 1 September 2024. |
EntrePass | For eligible foreign entrepreneurs who are keen to start and operate a business in Singapore that is venture-backed or possesses innovative technologies. |
Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) | For high-earning existing Employment Pass holders or overseas foreign professionals. The PEP offers greater flexibility than an Employment Pass. |
Overseas Networks and Expertise Pass | For top talent in business, arts and culture, sports, as well as academia and research. |
S Pass | For mid-level skilled staff. Candidates |
