3.5 Work absences

Legal absences

Article 473 of the CLT brings some situations in which the employee's duly proven absence is paid leave:

  1. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý up to two consecutive days, in the event of the death of the spouse, ascendant, descendant, brother, or person who is declared in the employee's employment and social security card and is economically dependant on the employee

  2. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý up to three consecutive days, due to marriage

  3. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý for one day, every 12 months of work, in case of voluntary blood donation

  4. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý up to two consecutive days or not, for the purpose of registering voters, under the terms of the respective law

  5. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý the period in which the employee must fulfil the requirements of military service

  6. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý the days in which the employee is demonstrably carrying out entrance exams for admission to a higher education institution

  7. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý for as long as necessary, when the employee must appear in court
