3.1ÌýÌýÌýÌý Islamic charitable tax

Muslims are required to pay zakat which is an Islamic charitable tax used for alms. Zakat payment can be facilitated via payroll.

The Islamic religious council (MAIK) is responsible for authorising the collection of zakat in Kedah. Other councils exist in other areas. A person who pays zakat through someone who is not appointed by the council is committing an offense
