AustraliaOn 6 February 2024, Treasury Laws Amendment (Cost of Living Tax Cuts) Bill 2024 was submitted to the Australian House of Representatives including amendments to the Income Tax Rates Act 1986 as follows:
Income bracket: less than AUD 45,000: tax rate: 16%
Income bracket: AUD 45,000–135,000: tax rate: 30%
Income bracket: AUD 135,000–190,000: tax rate: 37%
Income bracket: over AUD 190,000: tax rate: 45%
The tax rates for non-resident taxpayers for the 2024–25 year of income or a later year of income would be as follows:
Income bracket: less than AUD 135,000: tax rate: 30%
Income bracket: AUD 135,000–190,000: tax rate: 37%
Income bracket: over AUD 190,000: tax rate: 45%
The tax rates for working holiday makers for the 2024–25 year of income or a later year of income would be as follows:
Income bracket: less than AUD 45,000: tax rate: 15%
Income bracket: AUD 45,000–135,000: tax rate: 30%
Income bracket: AUD 135,000–190,000: tax rate 37%
Over AUD 190,000: tax rate: 45%
