6.1.2 Reciprocal agreements

Morocco

Foreign workers who are nationals of a country that has signed a bilateral social security agreement with Morocco are excluded from the Moroccan social security system if they work for a parent company in Morocco.

The posting must be evidenced by a standard form known as a 'certificate of liability for a posted worker' issued by the competent authority of the country of origin. In the absence of this certificate, the foreign worker is automatically subject to the Moroccan social security system, in application of the principles of sovereignty and territoriality.

In the event of an extension of the period of secondment of a worker, the CNSS receives, via the Moroccan Ministry of Labour, a request for extension from the competent authorities of the countries that have signed social security agreements with Morocco, the duration of which may not exceed the initial period of secondment of the insured person. The CNSS notifies the authorities, via the Moroccan Ministry of Labour, of its decision to accept or reject the request for extension of the secondment, stating the reasons for its refusal.
