3.5.4 Fair pay agreements

New Zealand

Effective from 1 December 2022, Fair Pay Agreements Act 2022 stated its purpose as being to enable employment terms to be improved for employees by providing:

  1. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý a framework for bargaining for fair pay agreements that specify industry or occupation-wide minimum employment terms; or

  2. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý in certain circumstances, for the authority to determine those minimum employment terms

It was intended that the Fair Pay Agreements system would assist the bargaining
