2.3.3 Involuntary Loss of Employment Scheme


United Arab Emirates

From 1 January 2023, Cabinet Resolution No 97 of 2022, introduced a requirement for Government and Private Sector workers and employees, to participate in the Involuntary Loss of Employment Scheme (ILOE), to provide compensation for loss of employment. However, the following are currently excluded from this newly introduced requirement:

  1. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý investors (self-employed)

  2. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý domestic workers

  3. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý contractual workers or those on temporary assignment

  4. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý juveniles under the age of 18

  5. Ìý

    •ÌýÌýÌýÌý retirees
