According to Federal Decree Law No (33) of 2021, Art 6, it is illegal for a person to work in the UAE without a valid work permit issued according to the procedures set out by MOHRE. Also see sections 6.3, 10, 11 and 12.

There are 12 types of work permit issued which are:

1. Ìý

   •ÌýÌýÌýÌý foreign employee

2. Ìý

   •ÌýÌýÌýÌý transfer of foreign employee from one establishment to another

3. Ìý

   •ÌýÌýÌýÌý resident on a family sponsorship

4. Ìý

   •ÌýÌýÌýÌý temporary work permit to hire a worker to complete a job within a specific period

5. Ìý

   •ÌýÌýÌýÌý one-mission work permit to recruit a worker from abroad to complete a temporary job, or a particular project for a specific period, at an establishment registered with the Ministry

6. Ìý

   •ÌýÌýÌýÌý part-time work permit to recruit a worker under a part-time contract where his working hours or days are less than their full-time contract counterparts. It is possible that the worker may work for more than one employer after obtaining a permit to do so from the Ministry
