Minimum paid annual leave
Under Labour Code 2019, Art 113, employees working under normal working conditions are entitled to a minimum of 12 days of paid annual leave, exclusive of public holidays. The minimum paid annual leave is increased for employees working under working conditions considered as heavy, hazardous or toxic conditions or extremely heavy, hazardous or toxic conditions – which are 14 days and 16 days respectively.
An employee must also be entitled to one additional day of paid annual leave for every five years of consecutive service for an employer, and there is no maximum cap on these additional leave days.
