Where the ownership of a company (the target company) changes in one of the circumstances described above and corporation tax assessed on that company for an accounting period ending before or after the change is unpaid six months after the assessment is made, HMRC may raise an assessment1 to recover all or part of the unpaid tax. This must be made within three years from the date the unpaid liability was determined2 and can be issued to any of the following3:
- Ìý
(a)ÌýÌýÌýÌý any person who had control of the target company at any time during the relevant period before the change in ownership;
- Ìý
(b)ÌýÌýÌýÌý any company of which the person
