Qualifying investments—stocks and shares ISA
Investments of the following kinds may be acquired or held in a stocks and shares individual savings account (ISA)1.

1 | Shares2 | Shares (other than in an investment trust) issued by a company (wherever incorporated, see E3.302) and officially listed (or, in the UK and European Economic Area (EEA), admitted to trading) on a recognised stock exchange, and prior to 1 July 2014 in circumstances where the shares in question satisfy the 5% test outlined below or were held under the component on 6 October 2005. This does not include shares within points (6) or (15) below or in an industrial and provident society (now a registered society with effect from 1 August 2014 by virtue of CCBSA 2014, s 1). Nor does it include nil paid rights, warrants to subscribe for shares, futures or options. See also the commentary underneath this table3 |
