E4.662 Residual charge—cash equivalent of the benefit

Personal and employment tax

As indicated in E4.660, the cash equivalent of employment-related benefits which are within the residual charge (broadly, those that are not within other chapters of the benefits code) is treated as earnings from the employment for the tax year in which the benefits are provided1.
