Setting the employee's pay rate
The employment contract will normally indicate the basic cash rewards for the employee's service by reference to the time devoted to, or the nature of, their duties. This may range at one extreme from the individual who is employed at an hourly rate for a set number of hours per week to, at the opposite end of the scale, the senior company executive or director who is paid an annual salary
